January 9, 2025: Today, I Wannabe Blissfully Content (While Also Low-Key Crushing Life)

Dear Wannabe Diary,

So, today started with the usual chaos. Dropped my daughter off at daycare (well, technically my mom did because I’m living that risky pregnancy life), and decided to kick off the morning with a guided meditation by Regan Hillyer. I was all zen, envisioning success and gratitude, feeling like a walking Pinterest board of positivity. And let me tell you, it worked... for about two hours.

Fueled by my newfound motivation, I tackled the beast I’ve been avoiding for days: the dreaded monthly accounting for both of my businesses. Spoiler alert: neither is making any money. But hey, the accounts are in order, and now my accountant can pity me properly. Baby steps, right?

The Makeover (Sort Of)

After that whirlwind of productivity, it was time to "get ready," which in my case means brushing my teeth, slapping on some concealer to hide the crime scene I’ve made of my face (thanks, pregnancy hormones and irresistible cookie dough), and putting on a bra. You know, the bare minimum to look human.

Do I bother with mascara? Not if I’m staying local. Why waste good makeup when I’ll inevitably rub it off in five minutes because I forgot I’m wearing it? But today, I had a doctor’s appointment, so out into the big, wide world I went.

Manifestation Experiment: Parking Edition

Inspired by my morning meditation, I decided to test the waters of manifestation. As I got into my car, I declared, "I will find the perfect parking spot right by the entrance!" Now, normally, I settle for the far-off spots. But today? Manifestation magic. The best spot, closest to the door, was waiting for me. Coincidence? I think not.

Feeling like a parking sorceress, I pushed my luck at the library. I visualized the elusive spot at the top of the hill—the one that’s always taken. And voilà! It was mine. Manifestation level: expert. Next up, I’ll be manifesting winning lottery numbers... or maybe just a self-cleaning kitchen.

Books, Baby Steps, and Bathroom Battles

At the library, I picked up a couple of Joe Dispenza gems—Becoming Supernatural and Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. (Manifestation goals start here, folks.) Sadly, You Are the Placebo was checked out, but hey, next time. Oh, and I grabbed some potty-training books for my toddler because we’re entering the "no more diapers" era. Fingers crossed the books work their magic—or I might need to manifest some patience.

Manifestation Level 1000

The grand finale of my manifestation experiment came when I returned home. Our driveway is a regular parking disaster, thanks to random cars and delivery trucks blocking the way. But today? Clear as day. I parked effortlessly, feeling like I’d unlocked a new superpower. And just as I stepped out of the car, a delivery truck appeared, backing in with impeccable timing. Mere chance? I highly doubt it. Manifestation Queen in the making.

The Bigger Picture

This whole manifesting thing isn’t new to me. I’ve dabbled before, especially last year when life felt like one long episode of Survivor: Stress Edition. Between failing business ventures, a toxic boss with an ego the size of a small country, and a series of personal setbacks, I was hanging by a thread. That’s when I discovered Regan Hillyer’s The Art of Manifesting on Mindvalley.

For 28 days, I journaled, meditated, and visualized my way to a better mindset. I cried during meditations (happy tears, mostly), felt like I was floating, and truly believed in the process. And then, like a classic human, I stopped once life got less dramatic.

But not this time. This time, I’m committed. Because if I don’t work on myself, how can I expect anything else to improve? Happiness isn’t something that magically appears—it’s something you decide to create. And I’m deciding.

Books to Fuel the Journey

This year, I’ve set a goal to read at least one book on personal growth each month. I’m kicking things off with Dispenza’s work, but I’ve also got Atomic Habits by James Clear, The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel, and Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Dr. Julie Smith collecting dust on my bookshelf. So here I am, trying to manifest my way to a happier, calmer, and more successful life—one parking spot, potty-training book, and self-help read at a time.
