Dear Wannabe Diary,
This morning started way too early because I made the genius decision to stay up late last night—till 10 p.m. Yes, that’s “late” now. But I had big plans for the morning: take a shower, wash my hair, and tackle the most dreaded task of all—shaving.
Let’s talk about shaving while pregnant. If you’re one of those unicorn moms with a tiny bump until the 8th month, congratulations. For the rest of us, shaving is basically an Olympic event. Between gasping for air, sweating bullets, and blindly guessing what’s happening “downstairs,” it’s a miracle anything gets done. Honestly, if someone invented a pregnancy-friendly laser hair removal tool, I’d throw my money at them immediately.
Anyway, the morning workout (a.k.a. my shaving routine) was followed by a smooth daycare drop-off. No tears—for the third day in a row! Personal win unlocked. Then it was off to my OB appointment.
The Check-Up: Music to My Ears
Because my regular OB is still out, I was assigned to a new doctor, and she was amazing. She took her time, explained everything during the morphology scan, and reassured me that my little gymnast is perfectly fine.
The good news? No more placenta previa! It’s officially moved, meaning a natural birth is back on the table. The baby was doing her usual flips and kicks, making the whole scan take twice as long, but hey, she’s just expressing herself. Everything looks great: heart, kidneys, legs, lips, you name it. Oh, and we’re still expecting a girl! Fingers crossed she doesn’t surprise us at delivery because we have nothing ready for a boy.
The Great Urine Sample Fiasco
After the appointment, I headed to the lab to give my blood and urine samples. Feeling confident, I grabbed the little cup and headed to the bathroom. Except... I got distracted thinking about my daughter’s upcoming birthday plans and, well, forgot the cup. Yep, just peed straight into the toilet like a rookie. Cue me chugging water in the car and desperately waiting to go again. Pregnancy brain: 1, Me: 0.
Post-Appointment Shopping Adventures
On my way home, I spotted a “Clearance Sale” sign (my kryptonite). I walked out with two fluffy throw pillows and the cutest duvet for my daughter’s big-girl bed—all for €26. Bargain of the year! If anyone needs me, I’ll be cuddling my new pillows.
Tech Woes & Photo Hoarding
Back home, I was supposed to work, but instead, I fell down the rabbit hole of trying to free up storage on my phone. How is it possible to fill up 256GB? I swear, 90% of it is identical photos of my daughter from her first year. Deleting them feels like deleting memories, so... I just hoard them.
Side note: Can someone explain iCloud to me? I bought 1TB of storage, but now I’m paranoid. If I delete photos on my phone, do they vanish from iCloud too? I think not, but I’m too scared to test it. Please send help (and a tutorial).
Reel Milestone!
Oh, and on a happier note: one of my reels (this one: link to reel) hit 7,600 views and over 200 likes in one day! All organic, and I’m honestly so thrilled. It’s a small win, but it feels huge. Fingers crossed this is just the start, and soon I’ll be celebrating even bigger milestones.
For now, I’m celebrating today’s achievements: shaved legs, a healthy baby, and a “viral” reel. Life is good.
Signing off,
