Dear Wannabe Diary,
This is my second time writing this, because I forgot to save the first one and, of course, technology decided to betray me. But instead of losing my mind, I’m taking a deep breath and choosing peace. Because at the end of the day, getting mad won’t bring my lost post back, and I refuse to let this ruin what was actually a really good day.
So, here we go again.
Finally, a Day Out of the House! 🎉
Today was one of those rare days when I actually got out of the house, got dressed properly, and felt like a functioning member of society. The reason? My third (yes, THIRD) morphology scan to confirm that my placenta finally moved up and to recheck everything since the first scan was too early. Normally, they only do one, but hey—I got a VIP package, I guess. 😆
Not that I’m complaining. Seeing my baby girl again on ultrasound? Never gets old.
Even better, my partner took the day off so he could come with me. We dropped our daughter off at daycare, and honestly, I’m so relieved that she now loves going. The past two weeks, she’s been happily running in without even looking back. Meanwhile, I’m standing there like, Excuse me, can you at least pretend to miss me? 😅
Apparently, she’s settled in just fine and is already running the place. Which, considering how I was in daycare (literal boss with a security team guarding my imaginary “date night” spot under a table), checks out.
Good News & Big Hopes for Birth
After dropping her off, we headed toward the city. We were early, so we treated ourselves to a nice breakfast and coffee date, and instead of parking right by the hospital, we parked farther away so we could walk through the park in the sun.
And then, at the appointment, I heard the best words any pregnant woman can hear:
🩺 "Everything is perfect. No concerns at all. You can be at ease." 🎉
Not only is our baby girl doing great, but my placenta is now high enough that I’ve been given the green light for a vaginal birth after C-section (VBAC).
Now, I just need one more thing to work in my favor: for her to come on her own before my scheduled C-section date.
In my country, they only allow VBAC if labor starts naturally before 41 weeks—they won’t induce, and if I go past 41 weeks, it’s an automatic C-section. So now, I’m just manifesting that she decides to make an entrance a little earlier than her sister did.
Retail Therapy (But Make It Practical… Mostly)
After the appointment, we did some shopping—starting with a new inhalator for our toddler, because with all these colds, we needed a better one. We learned the hard way that the ultrasonic one we bought in December was useless, so we returned it and got a good old reliable compressor one. Apparently, they’re much quieter now, have longer tubes, and don’t leak, so you can even use them while the kid is lying down. This is a win for lazy, sick-day cuddles.
Then, since we were out, we made a quick stop at a quality clothing store that carries mainly branded but well-made pieces. I don’t care about big logos, but I do care about good fabric and longevity. I’d rather own fewer, better-quality items than piles of cheap fast fashion that fall apart after two washes. Same with food and skincare—we always go for higher quality, but thanks to our obsession with sales, we usually get it for the same price as the cheap stuff.
And today? Absolute steal.
🛍️ My haul:
- 8 high-quality T-shirts
- A Calvin Klein cap
- Socks
- Tommy Hilfiger undershirts
- A Guess black handbag (because I own ZERO good ones)
Total? €120. (For reference, the bag alone usually costs €170.) WIN.
🛍️ My partner’s haul:
- Hugo Boss slides
- Boss cap
- A button-up shirt
- 3 T-shirts (Puma, Boss, Lacoste)
Total? €50. Honestly, how did he get everything even cheaper? 😆
Food, Fresh Air & A Full Heart
After securing the best deals, we celebrated with lunch, and we were both craving Chinese, so we stuffed ourselves and even took an extra portion of Mongolian beef to-go—because let’s be real, no one is cooking dinner after a full day out.
By the time we finished eating, it was already time to pick up our daughter, and since the weather was still beautiful, we took her to the playground to get in some more fresh air and burn off some of that toddler energy before bedtime.
Now, the day is winding down, I’m finally rewriting this blog post (thanks a lot, Word), and I am exhausted.
But if this day taught me anything, it’s that:
- Saving your work is non-negotiable.
- Getting out of the house feels amazing.
- Some impulse purchases are actually wins.
- Good food makes everything better.
On that note… more days like this, please.
Until tomorrow,Wannabe Thriving (And Also Asleep ASAP). 😴
